With "Include forging allowance" ticked, the calculator adds Dustre's INF 002 allowance (round bar, square bar and disc) to the finished dimensions and shows the weight of the forging. Full tables, including cutting and machining, in supply tolerances.
Densities used
Same list as the materials. Density from each material's data sheet; for family guides, the typical value of the alloy.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the weight of a round bar?
Weight in kg/m = π/4 × d² × density / 1,000, with d in mm and density in g/cm³. A Ø 50 mm bar in 316L stainless weighs about 15.67 kg/m.
Is the calculated weight the actual weight?
It is the theoretical weight. Rolled and forged bars have machining allowance and positive tolerance, so the actual weight is usually a little higher.
