About engineering plastics
Each engineering plastic covers a range of temperature and load. General-purpose grades (UHMW, nylon, acetal and PET) work up to about 80 to 110 °C and solve most guides, rollers, bushings and gears. High-performance grades (PTFE, PVDF, PEEK) go from 150 to 260 °C and resist almost all chemicals; PEEK adds mechanical strength close to that of light alloys.
Fillers change the behavior: bronze, carbon, graphite and glass fiber reduce the cold flow of PTFE and raise its wear resistance; oil and MoS₂ lower the friction of cast nylon; carbon fiber and PTFE make the bearing grades of PEEK. So the right material depends on load (P), speed (V), temperature and medium more than on the trade name.
Dustre supplies the raw material (rod, sheet, tube and bushing stock) and the machined part to drawing: guide and seal rings, bushings, valve seats, scrapers, rollers and gears, in the same order as the metal parts.

Frequently asked questions
Are Teflon and PTFE the same thing?
Yes. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is the polymer; Teflon® is the Chemours trademark that became the common name. Teflon rod is PTFE rod.
Which plastic replaces bronze in bushings and rings?
It depends on load, speed and temperature. PTFE with 40 to 60% bronze accepts poor lubrication and up to about 260 °C; bearing-grade PEEK takes higher load and temperature; oil-filled cast nylon solves general-purpose bushings at lower cost. Compare the PV limit on each data sheet.
Cast or extruded nylon?
Cast nylon (PA6 G) comes in large rods and plates, with less internal stress and better stability in machining. Extruded nylon (PA6 and PA66) is usual in smaller diameters. Both absorb water and change dimensions in humid environments.
Does Dustre sell only raw material or also the part?
Both: rod, sheet, tube and bushing stock cut to size, or the part machined to drawing or sample.
