Mechanical design
We develop the mechanical design of the equipment and parts we manufacture: sizing to the applicable code, fabrication drawings, bill of materials and the delivery documentation.
What we do
- Calculation report to the equipment code: ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3 or API 650*
- 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models
- Detailing of forged and machined parts from a sample, sketch or old drawing
- Bill of materials with the standard for each product form
- Inspection and test plan and welding procedures (WPS/PQR)*
- Data book: material certificates, heat treatment records, test reports and as-built drawings

Materials
Capacity, maximum dimensions and lead time on request: send the drawing. See alloys in stock.
From requirement to fabrication drawing
The design starts from the customer's data sheet: fluid, design pressure and temperature, corrosion allowance, external loads and required standards. From that we define geometry, thicknesses, nozzles, flanges, welded joints and the material of each component. The result is 2D fabrication drawings, a 3D model to check assembly and clashes, and a traceable bill of materials.
Calculation to the applicable code
Sizing follows the equipment code: ASME Section VIII Division 1 for pressure vessels and heat exchangers, ASME B31.3 for process piping, API 650 for atmospheric storage tanks* and ASME B16.5 or B16.47 for standard flanges. The calculation report covers shells, heads, nozzles, reinforcements, flanges and the hydrostatic test pressure. See also ASME B16.5 flanges, pressure classes and the equipment we build.
Material, fabrication and data book in one place
Since the material comes from our stock and fabrication is done in our own facilities (forge, machining, fabrication, welding and heat treatment), the design already considers the available forms and sizes and what each alloy requires in welding and heat treatment. At the end, the data book gathers as-built drawings, EN 10204 3.1 material certificates, heat treatment records and test and hydrostatic test reports.
What to send for a quote
Send the data sheet or technical specification, the design conditions (pressure, temperature, fluid, corrosion allowance), the required standards, existing drawings or sketches and the list of documents the data book must contain. * Design codes and scope to be confirmed with the technical team for each piece of equipment.

Frequently asked questions
Does Dustre design equipment that another company will build?
We assess it case by case. The focus is the design of the equipment and parts Dustre itself manufactures, so a single party is responsible for the calculation, the material, the fabrication and the data book.
In what format do you deliver drawings?
Drawings in PDF and DWG/DXF and 3D models in a neutral format (STEP), unless the customer asks for another standard.
Does Dustre perform this service on customer-supplied material?
Yes, as long as the alloy and the specification are defined. We can also supply the material from our stock, with EN 10204 3.1 certificate.
