Engineering
Automation and control
We deliver the equipment with the control it needs to run: panel, PLC, instruments and sensors, defined together with the mechanical design and tested before shipment.
What we do
- Electrical and control panels for the equipment we build*
- PLC and HMI for mixers, tanks, reactors and heat exchangers*
- Instrumentation: temperature, pressure, level and flow
- Variable frequency drives for agitators and pumps
- Electrical diagrams, I/O list and instrument list in the data book
- Function test before shipment and start-up support*

Materials
Capacity, maximum dimensions and lead time on request: send the drawing. See alloys in stock.
Control designed together with the equipment
Automation is defined together with the mechanical design: which variables to measure, where to install the sensors, which safety interlocks the process requires and how the operator interacts with the equipment. This avoids forgotten couplings and nozzles on the shell, sensors with wetted parts in a material incompatible with the fluid and panels that do not fit the plant layout.
Instrumentation and wetted materials
RTDs and thermocouples, pressure transmitters, level switches and transmitters and flow meters are chosen by measuring range and fluid. Wetted parts (thermowells, diaphragms, process flanges) follow the same material selection as the equipment: 316L in most cases and duplex, Hastelloy C-276 or titanium when the medium is aggressive. Thermowells can be machined from bar or forgings from our stock.
Panel, PLC and testing
The panel houses electrical protection, drives (starters and frequency inverters) and the controller: a PLC with HMI for processes with recipes, sequences and data logging, or dedicated controllers for simple temperature and pressure loops. Before shipment the assembly goes through a function test, and the documentation (electrical diagrams, I/O list, instrument list and operating manual) goes into the equipment data book.
What to send for a quote
Send the process description (what the equipment must do and in what sequence), the variables to control and log, the available voltage, the area classification (if there is an explosive atmosphere), the plant's PLC standard and internal panel standards. * Scope, brands and panel standards (NR-10, NR-12, hazardous areas) to be confirmed with the technical team for each project.

Frequently asked questions
Does Dustre automate third-party equipment?
The main scope is the automation of equipment Dustre designs and builds. Retrofit of existing equipment is assessed case by case, starting from a survey of what is already installed.
Which PLC brand do you use?
We follow the customer's plant standard when there is one, to simplify maintenance and spare parts. Without a defined standard, we recommend an option according to the size and function of the equipment.
Does Dustre perform this service on customer-supplied material?
Yes, as long as the alloy and the specification are defined. We can also supply the material from our stock, with EN 10204 3.1 certificate.
